With Smart Cloud, eProseed opts for business affinity. Originally conceived as an accelerator for transformation, eProseed’s Smart Cloud is gaining momentum today amongst customers seeking superior support services on the Oracle software stack, and with businesses drawn by the level of operational commitment guaranteed by the Capellen-based Company..
“Why yet another a cloud, you may ask ? Because we regularly come across very specific requirements from our customers,” said Geoffroy Lamalle, founder and CEO of eProseed. ” for example in certain domains, customers wish to deploy their Oracle platform in the cloud and in a certified PSF environment, and they therefore need end-to-end Oracle expertise. If it is possible to find a provider who could eventually meet their storage and computing power requirements relatively easily on the market, no one dares to commit to the level of availability of their applications or their technological resources, especially if they are not the actual software editor”
A strong technology partnership
“Our goal is to remain a small agile player, and to adopt the same strategy that has guided eProseed since its inception, that is to say, demonstrate that there is something else other than binary, heavy and expensive solutions on the market, and that the Private Cloud is not only possible, but also very effective,” he continued, . “eProseed intends to build real value add based on reliability. “Today the need for reliability goes beyond the traditional view of machine availability. Our infrastructure solutions are designed fom the beginning to the application service level expected by our customers and include a unique commitment to reach it ” says the CEO of eProseed.
Economies of scale and custom metrics
Running their development and test environments on Smart Cloud allows eProseed’s customers to overcome the constraints associated with material resources and enjoy instant access to infrastructure pre-installed with the Oracle software stack, whilst paying only for what resources are actually consumed. This agility allows faster assignment of developers to projects or to test different configurations in parallel.
“Our approach is to offer a consolidated Oracle platform to customers who, until now, were forced to rely on their own resources – servers, storage – thus losing valuable economies of scale,” continues CEO of eProseed. “With Smart Cloud, and that is why our offer is ‘smart’, we are now able to offer shared Oracle environments whilst integrating license management, as well as the cost of acquisition and of operations – This relieves a significant burden ” Added to this are custom made-to-measure metrics,. eProseed is for example currently in discussion with some clients on the implementation of transactional metrics, which should lead to a win-win situation for both parties, with significant savings as a result.
Let there be no mistake, our objective is not to become a provider of IaaS . Today there is a space. – a niche – to be filled, said Geoffroy Lamalle. We may not be the size of some of the bigger players, but then we do not suffer from the inertia that comes with being big, and we can offer an entry pack at an extremely competitive price. Today, there is a need for such an offer based on Oracle products, an offer that we can expand to different countries. We have opened a subsidiary in the Netherlands and we already host a development and testing environment for a large public sector client in Luxembourg “
Customer Demand is the best Incubator
“The project at the origin of Smart Cloud was positioned as a deployment accelerator” comments Stéphane Revel, Head of IT at eProseed. “Our technology know-how combined with the benefits of the Cloud enabled us to deploy development and test environments extremely quickly, thus allowing us to start the actual work upon signature of the contract. The impetus to go further grew from the customers’ appreciation of the effectiveness of our development and test environments, and who consequently asked us to also support the production phase of their projects. ” Thus, once development and testing phases are completed, eProseed customers are offered the choice to go into production either on their own infrastructure or to continue to take advantage of the flexibility of Smart Cloud,
“CFL, Bank of Lebanon and the Saudi Ministry of the Interior are good examples,” continues Geoffroy Lamalle. “These organizations face an additional problem, that of Managed Services, something which is very complicated to implement because of perfectly justified security constraints,. Being able to enjoy the same type of service through a Platform as a Service or a pseudo SaaS , insofar as we go as far as to ensure their application availability, greatly simplifies their process. “
A PaaS solution based on clear business knowledge
Smart Cloud is actually clearly oriented PaaS. eProseed of course provides its customers with the components of their platform, but in as much as the company has experienced all phases of the project from its conception, it is perfectly positioned to offer to manage the new environment. The service is guaranteed by a Service Level Agreement with a very high level of commitment that can even go as far, for some customers, as to guarantee the completion of each of their transactions. In this case, eProseed is paid “by transaction,” which is a simple and effective method of pricing. “This model, based on business metrics is both advantageous and reassuring for users, but it is not easy to set up with large players, be it only for reasons of financial risk, a risk that our partnership with our customers allows us to take, ” said the founder of eProseed.
Made in Europe
“Oracle currently reserves exclusive rights for PaaS solutions for its own software stack. There is no such data center in Luxembourg. There are indeed some in Europe but they fall under US law and regulations, which never fails to be a problem on this side of the Atlantic, “observes Geoffroy Lamalle. eProseed, a European and more importantly, Luxembourgish company, is not subject to the whims of Uncle Sam. This is a major differentiator for the Luxembourg based company, to be able to offer at the same time, a high level of protection for the Oracle ecosystem in a PSF sector and under European law.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
