Simon Haslam – Partner & Technical Director
I’m very happy to announce that Simon Haslam, an Oracle ACE Director, has joined eProseed UK as a Partner and Technical Director together with Bruno Neves Alves. Now with 8 Oracle ACE Directors – who are leading community experts in Oracle Technology – eProseed is more than ever ready to shape our customers’ next generation Oracle solutions!
For the last 20 years Simon has been helping organizations to get the most value out of their Oracle investments. He enjoys all aspects of Oracle infrastructure design and build, but specializes in mission-critical Fusion Middleware platforms. His interest areas include Oracle’s Maximum Availability Architectures and the Enterprise Deployment Guides, Application Continuity and GridLink, TLS/SSL, network load balancers, automated provisioning, operations management and hybrid cloud.
Simon has designed many enterprise solutions (from those using a traditional primary site plus DR topology, through to active-active data centers), and been involved with numerous upgrade projects from 9iAS right through to the latest versions of SOA Suite and WebLogic 12c. Besides planning and design he often helps customers with health checks, application performance tuning or trouble-shooting production issues in these sophisticated, multi-layer platforms.
Back in 2009 Simon was only the second person in the UK to be awarded Oracle ACE Director status for Middleware & SOA, recognizing his long term contribution to the Oracle community. Along with being Chair of the UK Oracle User Group’s Middleware SIG for 8 years, he is a regular author in Oracle Scene and OTech magazines, and a frequent conference speaker. His many appearances at events in Europe and USA include technical presentations for each of the last 6 years at Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco.
Enjoying close working relationships with various Oracle Product Management and engineering teams, Simon is also a recognized expert on the ODA Virtualized Platform, having been an early adopter of the product from early 2013, and co-presenting with Oracle on several occasions. He was the inventor of the O-box® SOA Appliance (which automatically provisions secure, highly available, right-sized Oracle SOA Suite environments in under 2 hours), the first product of its kind globally.
Highly approachable and happy to “talk technical” at any time of the day, Simon looks forward to helping eProseed customers deploy innovative Oracle solutions that help them achieve, and exceed, their business goals more quickly.
